SUMMARY
Works under teacher directions to assist with instructional duties and other duties as required by certified staff members.
LOCATION Indian Oasis Preschool Program, Tohono O’odham Head Start Centers, and Home Base sites. Additional $2.00 per hour stipend for required travel.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
- An Associate’s degree or higher, or 60 semester hours of coursework documented on an official transcript from an accredited institution of higher education; or
- Obtain a passing score from the Arizona Paraprofessional Assessments (ie. Para Pro, ACT Workkeys, or Master Teacher’s Para Educator Learning Network). Must provide a copy of certificate; and
- Must possess valid AZ Driver License; and
- FBI fingerprint check required
Applicants not meeting the minimum requirements may be considered at a lower position, Duty Aide (Grade 2), with the goal of working toward meeting the requirements of the Paraprofessional position.

- Work under teacher directions to assist with instructional duties and other duties as required by certified staff members
- Work with students and staff on family and school projects
- Work with school on special needs projects
- Other duties and projects as assigned by the building principal

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Work involves the performance of duties where extreme physical exertion is not normally required to perform all aspects of the job. Assistance is available as required to perform physically demanding tasks. Work involves sitting for extended periods of time, requires moving from one location to another, reaching, stooping, bending, and holding and grasping objects. Visual weakness must not prohibit the performance of assigned duties. Verbal communicative ability may be required of public contact positions.
EQUIPMENT, AIDS, TOOLS, MATERIALS
Utilize office equipment such as computers/mobile learning devices, telephones, printers, and copiers, etc.
PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
Employee will have the opportunity to attend workshops, conferences, and utilize other professional development opportunities to improve his/her skills.
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Mainly Indoors but some outside duties required. Classroom environment. Exposure to weather. Contact with students, employees, and public.
